Introducing Oriental Institute of Science and Technology under Oriental Association for Education and Research

Oriental Institute of Science and Technology was established in the year 2006 under the auspices of Oriental Association for Education and Research. In the same year i.e. in the year 2006, Vidyasagar University , Midnapore, West Bengal , granted affiliation to Oriental Association for Education and Research in M.Sc. Biotechnology and M.Sc. Biochemistry Courses. Both these courses are being conducted in Oriental Institute of Science and Technology which has its two campuses, one at V.I.H Campus, Rangamati, Midnapore, West Bengal and another at Dewandighi, Burdwan, West Bengal .

The first batch of M.Sc. students in Biotechnology and Biochemistry had come out successfully in the year 2008 from both these campuses. We are proud to say that all the students had passed out in 1 st class from Vidyasagar University . Moreover, four students of the same batch passed out successfully in GATE Examination in the year 2009 scoring more than 90 percentile.

Oriental Institute of Science and Technology was approved by the Govt. of West Bengal as a General Degree College in the year 2008. At present, two Post Graduate Courses, namely, M.Sc. in Biotechnology and M.Sc. in Biochemistry and two Under-Graduate Courses, namely, B.Sc. (H) in Biotechnology and B.Sc. (H) in Microbiology are being conducted in the Institute.
